About

Dannia Lucarini // Captis Lucem

The year was 2004.

Bright-eyed, 18 years old, and carrying my mother’s old Canon Rebel 35mm camera, I attended my first design and fine art courses at the Virginia Marti College of Art & Design in Cleveland, Ohio. Among learning the finer points of painting, typography, illustration, and graphic design, I discovered artistic photography. It was love at first click.

From mountains to weddings to motorcycles.

What started with landscapes of the breathtaking Rocky Mountains and urban captures of downtown Denver eventually expanded into professional portraiture. I started shooting freelance weddings in 2008, after I noticed a slew of acquaintances that were disappointed with the quality and the expense of their wedding pictures; my brother came on board in 2011 with the shared mission of providing magazine-quality wedding photography at an accessible price – and thus Golden Hour Weddings was born.

My favorite subjects to photograph are motorcycles, mountains, and abandoned things. Sometimes there are people in the photos, which is also nice.

Back where it all started.

I spent most of my life in Colorado, but as of 2023, you’ll find me back at my roots in Northern Ohio. I currently design websites as an independent contractor for various companies, and occasionally indulge my love of photography, aviation, and motorcycle riding. I also really love to sing.
